JSA has started its 2016 season carrying out 100ha of Bottoming Out at Heathrow Airport – historically the first airport to have the operation carried out due to its quick drying sub-surface gravels. 100ha was carried out this year with the majority of works carried out at night whilst the airfield was closed thereby allowing unrestricted access to the Runway Strip. All arisings were taken to Heathrow’s own green waste facility for processing and long term return as a compost to the Airfield environment.
