Gatwick Airport High Blast reinstatement

JSA are pleased to have been given the contract by Gatwick Airport for the reinstatement of the grass areas of the airfield following the resurfacing of the main runway in 2012. After the disastrous weather in 2012, the amount of work involves a vast portion of the airfield adjacent to the main runway and its turn-offs along with the associated de-lethalisation and high blast protection. One aspect being trialed by GAL is the use of Flex-Terra hydroseeding on high blast areas in place of the conventional pins, Netlon and batons. Please look out for further news items later in the year showing the outcome and results of this novel approach yet to be trialed in the UK
